that thing really is damn sexy looking. What synths are you controlling with it?
would love to see it in action!

Thanks for the compliments guys, glad you like it!
I got to try the thing out live when playing a gig last night, and I shot a not so great quality video, but you can get the idea of what it does. I overlaid the mix recording with the live footage so you get some live/crowd ambience while still getting the audio quality of the recording.
I had it mapped as follows:
Buttons
1. Beatmasher 1 (+ turn on filters)
2. Beatmasher 2 (+ turn on filters)
3. Gater (+ turn on filters)
4. HUGE reverb
As you can tell it's a MIDI fighter style FX macro mapping for the buttons.
Knobs
(Switch position 1)
1. Dry Wet 1
2. Dry Wet 2
(Switch position 2)
1. Filter 1
2. Filter 2
Here's the video, enjoy:
It's based on Teensy, if enough people want to build one I can put together a parts list/DIY
Yep, metal pushbuttons.
I was first using it to control FX on synths in Ableton, specifically FM8. Still working on a track to demo that though. I was using the switch as a crossfader as well.
Technically no, it's wired just like a pushbutton switch. However, I did program the switch to send MIDI CC data as if it were an analog input so that I can control the crossfader in Ableton with it.
I did that on purposeI didn't need a 6' cable just to have the thing sit next to my laptop. I use an extension when I need more cable.
