I just got a brand new Traktor Kontrol S2 and Traktor 2 software from DJTT and am using a MacBook pro with OS X 10.5.8. The software iteself is working fine, however, like many others running 10.5.8 the Kontrol S2 wont connect with the software or be recognized by the laptop at all. Audio will route through it but that is it. I am pretty confident that I downloaded and tested all of the patches/updated drivers etc. for the S2 and I am still getting no communication between the computer and the controller. I have done a good deal of research and it seems like I need to upgrade to OS X 10.6 or greater. Is this the definitive solution for the problem I am having? I dont want to go out and uncessarily spend the ~$30 for the OS X upgrde. I know this has been discussed on the board before but I havent really found a definitive answer so I apologize if this is a bit of a redundant post.

os x 10.5.8 upgrade to 10.6 is free. Lion only cost $30.
