The real illegal, ones. In like a warehouse or some random house party, or out in the cayons for 3 days straight.

Every club here is either dubstep or electro house, and all clubs close down by 2am. Salt lake city is ran by mormons. No club is opened past 2am. Kinda boring at that time.
The absolute last place I would expect deep house is at an illegal rave.

    My thoughts exactly.

Plus, I wouldn't expect Salt Lake city to be a hotbed for ANYTHING music wise, so not surprised to hear that.

+1. I know a guy who plays tech/deep house sets weekly at some different bars in New York. Again, it all depends on the place and night.

Really? Heaps of deep house warehouse parties around my way. None of which are particularly "legal".

I was more referring to the "illegal rave" out in the canyons statement. I would associate that more with harder, faster, rave type stuff.

I guess the word rave gets tossed around loosely, but I don't consider deep house rave music and wouldn't call a party playing deep house a rave.

There's probably less than 10 people that even know what deep house is in my town.

But to answer your question I'm trying to figure out where to go for a friend's birthday in two weeks and after filtering out the junk it seems the only things to choose from is deep house and there are a few people playing. All the techy stuff and the Techno Loft at space seems to be deep tech house type stuff too that weekend. Not really complaining. I'm debating seeing Deetron.

And I hear a lot of deep house from the better opening DJs and residents at various places, even deep house and tech house opening for electro type stuff. I don't really go out just to hang out at spots on regular nights so I don't know what the scene is like but it appears there is lots of deep house all over the place here, and I hear UK bass stuff quite a bit too and Dirtybird does nights occasionally.

I feel your pain about the 2am closing time, over here they've just introduced a law that states all clubs must close at 2, not just shut the bar at 1 and continue music until 5. It's pretty shitty Warehouse raves all tend to follow a progression, in my experience.

    Deep House
    Minimal Techno
    Tech-house
    House
    Tech-house again
    Techno
    Breakbeat
    Psytrance
and then back down into the deeper stuff once more.

Ok, I might get flamed but I would expect more from the ppl at djtt. Can someone take the time and post a 'generic' song from each one of the genres above....

I feel like its something that I know but I want to clarify my own doubts.

Theres no deep house scene in my area (AT ALL) and i generally spin electro house but I'm trying to expand my horizons and everytime i work my way into a deep house/minimal groove I really enjoy mixing alot more.
