I've started moding (2 dee's?) my oxygen 8 and i need some more info and i thought this community could help me out.
I want to replace the buttons or the keys with arcade buttons from dj techtools . I just don't know where to start

    this is the keys board

Switches should have 2 wires... one in, one out.. .if the switch is on, the 2 wires are connected. Looks like (from pic 1) that the switches are on the PCB, and that the 'switch' simply contacts the 2 oval pads to create a circuit.

Therefore in order for you to replace the standard switches with arcade buttons, you just need to solder a wire to each of the pads, and then onto each side of an arcade button.

To test that these are indeed the switches, connect 2 of the oval pads (using something metal) and see if you button is activated on the Oxy8.

Did that make sense. Msg back if not.

The PCB is actually routed in what looks to be a three wire config. You can see the traces flow from pad to pad, pad to ground, and v+ to pad. You would need to emulate the four pads as closely as possible.

i've found that 2 of the connections, One sending a note on and One Sending note off signal. I've been successful in connecting a arcade button to start the Note on signal BUT i need to some how create the note off signal with the same button.

    Any other suggestions?

Just a guess, but the pads are probably arranged for velocity switching. The carbon buttons in the membrane hit the pads just slightly apart. The faster you hit, the shorter time between the two switch closures. Faster=higher velocity. Most keyboards use this type of switch. You would probably have to switch both sets of pads at once. Hope that helps
