Because you still need to be able to read the crowd, and no playlist will be able to do that.

Ummmm here is the deal I beleive most of us here are more of an underground style DJs/Producers/Controllerist/Turntablist. That guy is a commercial DJ the kind that does weddings, childrens parties, bar mitzvahs and what not. I don't expect that type of DJ to even understand what mixing, midi, production or even have talent to mix at a club or underground. The dude is doing what gets him payed. Am I mad? Nah he is doing his thing. Would I ever want to do those type of gigs? Fuck no I would rather slit my own d#%k errrm wrist. I do find comercial style DJs more like our nerdy cousin we don't like to talk about. PLUR hahahaha

    Actually they will be.

I was reading a thing where they have a new itunes integration where u can vote for the next song through your phone and whatever song gets the most votes will be played next.

No Joke it was on the DigitalDJtips site.

i just read your sig "I dont care if you use 2 ipads...2 cassette tapes...or a washboard and a wooden spoon...if you rock it, you rock it."

and this is exactly what i´m talking about. who (except for other djs) give a shit about what you do behind the booth as long as you entertain the crowd? hell, david f*cking guetta plays prerecorded sets as well as many many other djs. and? does the crowd care about? no!

in the end it comes down to one important thing and i´m repeating myself:

entertain your crowd! no matter what you do and what you use.

I read that too, but I still don't think it can replace what the DJ can do with reading the crowd, planning a head, building up to "something" (whatever you wanna call it) and creating an experience for the end user.
