I dont think it just irons out kinks ... mr gates updates do that for us.

This appears to be a multiple operating systems in one put together by johhny. The install file is like 4gb. Theres been a fair amount of stuff shoehorned into it. It aint no sleak stripped down xp at all surely.

I don't think this will be helping your cause at all, and if you ask people for help i'm pretty sure this is most definately one of the items they would tell you to sort before anything else.

I had traktor 3 running on a 1ghz proc with 512mb ram and it ran ... when you hammered it it almost fell over but for bsic two deck mising it was working. Seriousley get rid of that os or at least install traktor on another machine and test to at least eliminate this as a problem.

well i´ve played around with traktor today on a pentium m 1.6ghz with 2 gigs of ram and i didn´t notice any glitches or anything like that...run´s smoothly on my system!

i have tweaked my xp pro down to only run 11 services:

    DCOM-Server_Prozessstart
    Ereignissprotokoll
    IPSEC-Dienste
    Kryptographiedienste
    Plug & Play
    Remoteprozeduraufruf (RPC)
    Sicherheitskontenverwaltung
    Überwachung verteilter Verknüpfungen
    Windows Audio
    Windows Verwaltungsinstrumentation

in my taskmanager there are running folowing processes:

    explorer.exe
    svchost.exe
    svchost.exe
    svchost.exe
    lsuss.exe
    services.exe
    winlogon.exe
    csrss.exe
    smss.exe
    system
    Lerlaufprozess

tweaking xp down to this point and using the xp optimization tips i have posted you before, there should be no problem with running traktor & the vci!

i don´t know about your audio driver but you could try out asio4all, wich gives best performance and latency for me but maybe your sc´s asio driver works fine...

    www.asio4all.com

did you try out the dpc latency checker?

Default I haven't had 1 crash or freeze from Traktor Pro

Not 1 in four months. I played for 4 hours last night. Running Pro with a beta Darouter, 2 3d's and 2 3m's on a laptop with just the onboard sound. I was scratching and looping like crazy and playing as loud as it would go. The steps described here are important, optimize !

In fact, the only time I've ever had a software freeze up on me while spinning out, I was using SSL.

Once I got my grounding and power issues sorted I haven't had a single problem with Traktor crashing. Every lock up and crash I have had has been completely my fault, and has usually been related to some way that Windows routes power which I can usually change.

So yeah, I think this will be fixed with serious optimization of a legit copy of Windows, maybe a newer laptop might be in order. Or get Serato, but I have a feeling similar problems might creep up.

Also man, and I don't want to start a huge argument here, if you're using a cracked version of Traktor, it might be that. Honestly, I started on Tpro using an early cracked version and I had crashes, glitches and bugs all over the shop. Since switching to a legit version everything has disappeared.

I know their have been updates to the software itself since the original launch but I have played around with a crack of the latest version on my second lappy and had much the same problems. The specs of that lappy are about similar to yours. Just something to consider!

    Best of luck

If your using a cracked version of Traktor (i havent read that you are im just commenting on the last post) then your bound to have problems . The crack stinks .

Um... the above comment is completely useless to the discussion. Please refrain from this in the future.

If I was a betting man, I would put my money that the watered down OS ur running is causing the crashes.
