What do you suggest me? Im new to anything that is related to music, and id like to buy one of those things to start having some fun pretending to be a dj Also i dont want to buy anything else for now, so it will be a stand alone thingy

depends extactly what you want the launch pad can be mapped to midifighter style use within tracktor but if used for clip launching with ableton then its more at home and maybe of more use to buy a launch pad, id personally go with the midifighter tho myself as im a sucker for arcade buttons and effects in traktor, but ive got other controllers for the mixer eliment and song loading

I have both a Launchpad and an MF3D and I'd recommend the Midi Fighter for what you want to do.

Don't get me wrong, I love the launchpad and it's an amazingly versatile little gadget. I used it as a midi fighter before I got my 3D and while it works (in fact I'd say that in general the launchpad works great for traktor), the pads just don't work as well as the arcade buttons for triggering effects/cue points. I found that using instant grat on the launchpad that if I didn't hit the pads square in the center, they would sometimes fail to register.

Add in the impending Remix deck capabilities and I'd say you can't go wrong with a MF3D.

I want to buy a MFC, not a MF3D... And i dont know if giving up 64 buttons for 16 buttons is a good idea... btw i heard that midi fighter has sensible buttons that can be used like a crossfader for the effects ecc... am i right?

Arcade buttons are not velocity sensitive (neither the launchpad ones for that matter). You can map both units for mixer control / fx.

I heard the launch pad has 2 modes, session mode and mixer mode. So i shouldnt be able to map the mixer control/fx on the session mode right? If yes, are those two modes usable at the same time?

Actually it has 4 modes, Session, Mixer, user 1 and user 2. User 1 is premapped as a keyboard/drumpad and user 2 is blank. All of this is just for Ableton you understand, and just the default mapping. All of that can be changed if you want.

Ok , so i must assume i can have effects/mixing/beat juggling on the launchpad all in one mode... i just have to map them. But now the question is Why should i take the midi fighter, with only 16 buttons, instead of the novation launch pad, that equals to 4 midi fighters at barely the same price! Do you think that the buttons of the mfc are really REALLY worth it?

Well that's why I suggested the MF3D, the four banks and upcoming remix control make it much more versatile. You're talking about the classic though, so it really comes down to this. The launchpad can certainly do more things than the mfc, but the mfc is much better at the one thing it does do. Running Instant Grat on a launchpad works, but you're timing and accuracy suffer quite a bit because of the pads.

Look, you're not going to regret either purchase, as they're both great devices. If it were me I would probably get the launchpad first (in fact that's exactly what I did do). Play around with mappings and such and then get a mfc down the road if you find yourself needing a more specialized gadget. I ended up needing more precise triggers for my effects and got the mf, but you might be happy with the just the launchpad. Sorry if I'm rambling a bit, too much caffiene today.
