    I have always felt embarrassed by this, seriously, back when only america played baseball as an organized sport, 20's through the 60's or 70's I believe, it was OK, now with major leagues in japan and dozens of other countries its a joke not to have an ACTUAL world series.

    I was told that it was called the "world" series because back in the day the competition was sponsored by a paper called "the world" and that the name has just stuck. Could be wrong though. japan is better at baseball anyway lol

    basketball players can go to the olympics here, but I dont think pro baseball players can enter, not sure why, probably politics of some sort within the baseball business.
