Wow - I really had no idea it was that bad ??!! Huge shame for everyone. It's been a pretty disasterous year I think for so many UK festivals for various reasons (Sonisphere cancelled, Isle of White weather/traffic woes and think there were a few others like the F1 event) and just this bank holiday weekend two of the festivals I've DJd at both seemed to have far quieter turnouts than recent years (even though they were both mainly indoor events)

I know its a mix of bad luck with the terrible weather, and people having much less cash with all the ecconomic woes, but as a bit of a very small scale promoter myself am guessing these people must have made huge losses and also feel so sorry for the crowds who have gone.

Not an expert, but think 2013 might be quite a different kind of year.

I went to Creamfields in 2010 and as good a festival as it was, it was muddy. Which you'd expect from festivals, but since I went it seems it has gotten alot worse. It rained heavily when I was there and it wasn't anywhere near as bad as the pictures I've seen this year. It's the end of Creamfields on the Daresbury Estate if you ask me...

The biggest concern over it being cancelled is the speculation over refunds.
Although it is only a rumour, Creamfield's T's & C's state no refunds due to weather conditions. BUT on the creamfields website they do say a refund announcement will be made available shortly.
But how will they go about it? People who only had Sunday tickets get a full refund? People who had weekend tickets get half their money back? However they decide to manage this will surely affect their credibility as a festival and a service.
