getting a better sound out of the iphone or the laptop...

Hey guys I was reading about using a sound card connected to the computer or using an amp connected to the iphone to get a better quality sound from the computer/Iphone ... is this true? or what do you guys think about it... I have a pair of XBA-4 Sony earphones and I was reading some reviews that I wont have the best from those earphones if I don't use an amp or a sound card...

Hey mate, You're right most inbuilt sound cards are fairly rubbish in computers.

An amp wouldn't be the best option as the source sound from you're PC is still the in built sound card (rubbish).
You should look into getting a DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) These connect to the PC through a USB port or the 'optical out' if the computer has one.

There are a few different brands that make DAC's but I have only tried these guys and they seem to be really solid with great reviews online -
