This way you can press the button, flux activates but the green track head is still in the same place as the live play head. Then you do whatever you want, scratch, loop, jump to cue, whatever so the play head moves away from the tracking head which continues on its original course. Then deactivate flux and it jumps back to tracked point.
Cuz you only have 2 hands bro. You want to rub the TC with one hand, cut with the fader on the other...so somewhere you have to give up a second or 2...in order to reach and hit a button. Its not practical.

I mean, if you happy to do that...sweet. But its not viable for me.

Also, for it to work as Fluxmode is supposed to, it should be momentary like when you hit the cues. Sure, it controls loops too and releases in Flux (at the playhead) but my point stands that I dont want to have to deactivate like that. Its just not how I would like to use it.

Latter today i'll have a go at mapping something around the flux mode on my vci100, i have it modded so that i have 2 foot switches on buttons 2 and 4 of the fx section so i can try and find something that works with a footpedal.

    Good Luck!

We know that Loop Set works....Cue Set also and then Beat Jump set to xfine I think it was.

These engage Fluxmode when Fluxmode is ON for the deck already.

If they have key-lock which you can set to "scratch" mode then I don't see why they can't have flux enabled to do the same thing. With flux off scratching works in the normal manner, stopping the playhead. With flux mode activated, the playhead would keep moving forward and once the deck returns to normal speed (within a certain threshold), the track would jump to the flux playhead. You couldn't perform some scratches which require allowing the vinyl to move at normal speed, but most scratches you would be able to perform.

I would say that most scratches do require the vinyl to move at normal speed.

Correct, which would bring us to the issue of it deactivating...if it were touch sensitive.

I kinda get the feeling that the work around will not work.

Seeing that the PlayHead is controlled by the TC during Fluxmode with Loop Set on HOLD.
I get the feeling that its not going to allow us to work around it.

Unless one of the other commands that engage fluxmode works.

Do we know which commands engage FLuxmode when set to ON?

    Loops, Cue, Beat Jump....which others?

Lets list them so we can all have a test.

You could always duplicate the same song onto another deck and scratch with that.

Been fucking around for the past couple hours, Flux Mode DOES NOT work with coded vinyl at this moment in time.
No matter how I trigger flux mode, once you touch the vinyl the green tracking head gets moved.

It's even possible to do a 1 beat loop, rewind the vinyl back to the start of the tune, the loop keeps playing then when you exit the loop (and flux mode de-activates) the playhead jumps back to the beginning of the tune where the tracking head is.

I really want to know what happens with the Z2 (and its dedicated flux mode button) and timecode vinyl, I can't believe NI would leave it like this.

Yeah, there is a slipmode work around for TP 2.5.1 on Youtube.

Its duplicates the track and does some trickery.

    They explain it there.
