I need a Zero 8 for my new band, i need control over all my synths, my rhodes, my bass, and ableton. So i think the Zero 8 will be perfect for this. The only ableton controls i really need on it are the level's and eq's, because my midi controller will handle everything else. Plus it will really help when recording demos, as i'll be able to control input levels, and all of the digital effects on one board.

I would honestly go with the VCM - 600 from Vestax if all you want the mixer for is controlling Ableton.

Unless you are planning on using it to route some audio through it into ableton from tables/cdj/somesource then the Zero4/Zero8 would be a good choice. Yet the same can be achieved through other configurations.

Numark Mixdeck . TraktorLE . Vestax VCI-100 . Behringer UMX-25 . M-Audio Trigger Finger . . Ableton Live 8 . Reason 5 . Logic 9 Express .

Uhh...there's no soundcard as part of the VCM-600. Kinda defeats the point.

    good point!

but what is he using as the sound card now?

the original statement was... "but this time is to control Ableton".

Which actually does not defeat the point.

I just viewed it as an all-in-one solution. I understand your view.
