It's about the unit far as I'm concerned. Getting a cool software as well is quite bonus and can't hurt anyway :P

it's blue, red and purple + flashing blue, red and purple, right?
It's only blue and red regards to nemonic's last update. Combining those two colors to get purple isn't optional for CMD - wish I was wrong

Just two. The amber color is a "default" backlighting, and the blue is an indicator. The blue also has a blink state.

You could probably do the paging with a live script, and have it page through groups of clips "red box" style. And yes, the DC-1 (and all of the CMD controllers) are capable of receiving MIDI feedback.

Getting 2 LC-1s would rock out 4 16 step sequencers in grand style.

You're not wrong. Addressing the LED separately is pretty complicated behavior, and it isn't the way most software works. So we chose to go for a more simple solution. Less powerful in this case? Yes, but overall WAY less complicated for users and developers.

Hey so I have a question regarding the PL-1. Looking at the picture posted by unique squared, I was wondering if all the buttons have all colours of LED's beneath them? So like the play button is not just green, but can be changed between orange, red, blue and green? Or are certain controls limited to a singular colour? Sorry i have no idea how to word this any better :P

    Only 3 states?

I thought I saw purple in this picture but I guess it's just the light bleeding from adjacent pads. http://i45.tinypic.com/iqk0hi.jpg

How many colours do we get with the LC-1? 4, right? Any blinking or dimmed states?

edit: Has the website always said this on it?

Ships with EKS "The One" all-new modular DJ software package, allowing powerful MP3 playback, iTunes integration and multiple virtual decks"

Studio 4A have amber (off state), blue (on state) cue is purple and play is green - not sure if PL-1 work the same.

The 32 button "clip grid" has 4 possible colors plus blink states. Other buttons get amber and blue.

Wow... So no, that's not right at all. That was used internally only as a placeholder for a software bullet. It has been removed from the system (or so I thought). Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

So just to be clear - No, "The One" is not our bundled software. That would have been very cool, however.

That's how the PL-1 works as well.
