Cheers The EQing was definitely off; switching between hardware and software EQing is kinda screwing me up a bit so I need to just keep practicing and learn the differences between Traktor and hardware curves.

Sorry man hate the way prog house genre has degraded itself to cheddar

nd your mix is hardly a mix sounds more like cuts and jumps that are synced and quantized with off beat grids it's not shabby but the way you came Ito this thread I expected more. Where you are mixing your off its not spot on by any means and your killing your previous tracks not in phase or creating builds to kill them.

Another edit in a what I call pop house set I will drop likely 12 to 18 tracks in an hour in a trance set I average around 7mins a track so maybe 8-10 tacks usually why I do on average a 2 to 3 hour set
I did say it was a conservative Progressive House mix; ie, one with some tracks that club owners might actually recognize :P Tracks like that get spread out throughout the night when I play out.

Vocals were often sounding hollow and old tracks were left in for too long at times. And more pop house/electro than prog.

No complete trainwrecks (not sure what to say about 16:38..) but I did expect a lot more from such a harsh critic.
See above, but yeah; hollow vocals go back to the EQing issue you mentioned earlier, so duly noted

To be fair, I criticize gear and genres, not mixing

So THAT's why it sounds like 1 song all night long at some of the venues I work.

I play minimal techno, so it's one song an hour on a ONE bar loop.

I haven't progressed my skills to that level yet. I started with dubstep, where I pressed the RCA jacks onto various body parts for 5 hours and watched people mong out to the feedback.

Seriously though... I do between 4 and 5 hours a night , top 40 club, and I can easily fit 40 songs inside an hour and get the crowd going bananas. Obviously you have to mix right and within the flow, but I find it easy enough. Also, when it comes to dubstep/glitch hop (Skrillex and Knife Party) it literally divides the dance floor in half, so I find it better to mash it all up in a short 15-20 minute set and get it out of the way as I'm coming out of peak time. Dubstep fans generally consider themselves to be "DJs" so when you do quick cut up mixes they know what's going on and they love it, where the other people don't care because it's all "SCREE SCREEE WOMP BIPBIPBIP" to them anyway.

When I finish tonight, I'll tell you how many songs I played.

You might be able to criticize gear more effectively once you've mastered how to use it. And I don't think it's even possible to criticize a genre.

I remember when it was the norm to spin 10-14 tracks an hour for progressive house.

That's when it was actual progressive house and not crap pop EDM though

most tracks ranged from 7-11 minutes long
