It should work fairly well since it supports ASIO. For the last 2 months I've been using a cheap usb X-fi 5.1ch It's allowing me latency setting of 4ms on 44.1Khz on mac osx. It's not too shabby but i would be hesitant for live performances. I just map the rear output as my monitor, and it's front as main. Of course since my family was able to send me my Audio8dj the Soundblaster has seen no use with traktor.

Thanks for all the advice, everyone!

Tip: if you are going to use the BCD3000 with VDJ, go to their site and download the alternative mapper for it. it works a hell of a lot better than the original mapping and gives you much more flexibility
Of course vdj works with any LED´s. except for the build in native mapper for the bcd3k in vdj6. The mapper available as a add-on is amazing, it gave me great ideas for my own mapping.

I've been looking at VDJing for some time, and I want to start experimenting with it.
From what I read here, the consensus as far as controllers go seems to be the VCI-100, which I "can" buy here (Portugal) for about 370€.
On the other hand there's the BCD3000, which I (really) can buy, for some 180€.
My question is if I choose the BCD3000, will I be missing out much?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Hi there, can u tell me where u can find the VCI 100 reseller here in Portugal?
    thanx a lot
    cheers

I used a BCD3000 and a VCI 100. The BCD was a great starter. I learned alot from using this device, but a year later I upgraded to my VCI 100. Then kept learning and learning to the point where I am now. Now I use the VCI 100 SE with confidence and still learning every day.

Hi I've just upgraded to TP and now learning how to map the BCD 3K, what can you suggest. I've seen several posts but hoping to find one that fits. Any ideas?

Check out the mappings section and check out other peoples BCD 3000 mappings, find one you like and tweak it to taste.

There is a thread on NI forums with BCD3000 mappings, it's being updated regularly and the mapping worked great for me. It's here http://www.native-instruments.com/fo...ad.php?t=73408

I used it for about 7 months (because couldn't afford a vci at that point) and was really happy about it (in conjunction with HP Compaq NX7300), no problems whatsoever. It felt quite solid and reliable. It's only that it doesn't really look very pro )) and yes, there is a lot of plastic in it.

So I agree It's a great starter, but since you already have a soundcard, it's worth paying more for a VCI.
