Sony MDR-V55 Headphones Good Deal?

Ok. Got them yesterday and tested them out for two days. I love these headphones.

For less than $100 these are hard to beat. For $56, I should buy an extra pair. I thought the bass might be overwhelming for DJing, since these are compared to Beats by DRE so often, but it's nice and balanced with the mids and highs complementing the bass. They look and feel amazing and they are comfortable as hell. The cord is short, but it works for me. I don't dance around the stage, and if I have to step away from the mixer, I pull off my headphones.

PROS:
Quality build and stylish design.
Super soft earcups and extremely comfortable fit.
Very nice balanced sound. Good bass, pronounced mids and sizzling highs.
Flat cord is awesome.
Bargain Basement price.

CONS:
Cord could be a little longer. (only 47.2 inches)
No 1/4 inch adapter included.
No storage pouch included.

I got some of these about 5. Months ago, and they've been brilliant

I did get an extension cable, since I found it just a tad too short.

I haven't seen any phones anywhere near as good for this price. I was a bit peeved when I had to spend 2 hours trying to find a store that sold the mini jack to large jack adaptor, but that's it.

Looks like the same hinges that break really easily on other Sony models. I did really like the sound of my old Sonys, until they fell apart...

If they're anything like other Sony models, that's a good deal, if you're gentle with them.

I went through 3 pairs of the V700s because of the hinge issue, they are famed for it - they sounded great but shocking build.

I love the sound of the V700's, but damn, those cans clamp onto my head like a vice!

hahaha I had that problem, but they seemed to get really loose after a few uses.

I also remember my friend paying full price for a fake pair on eBay and they being a better fit than the real ones haha

I've got a real pair that I've had for 10 years. They haven't loosened up! The hinge HAS gone on the left hand side - nothing that couldn't be fixed with some super glue and some tightly wound wire...

I've also got a fake pair that I paid £20 for. They are sightly looser, but they sound like shit, and the cushions feel awful.
