What is with MP3 Music Packs for sale on Ebay?

Maybe, but they kept the post with the link to the ebay auction where you can actually buy it. The list would actually help you BUY the individual tracks from a legitimate source rather than buy the pack just to see what's in it.

I merely purchased it to resolve the OP question "Whats with MP3 music packs on Ebay"

I really don't have an intention of using them. But I did some research and most of the tracks were free download off soundcloud, or off Artist Facebook pages. Some were from music blogs.

How does posting a list of free tracks promote "obtaining music in a questionable way"? It's the exact opposite. The Ebay seller doesn't even list the tracks, because he wants you to buy the pack from him rather than acquiring the individual tracks legitimately (or for free). This list actually allowed me to genuinely check out some of those artists on Soundcloud. And, like I said before, the post with the link to the actual Ebay auction is still in this thread! If anything, that should have been removed. Whatever.

Yes but it was illustrated to me this way.

"if someone see tracks they like on that list, they might be much more prone to purchase the pack off ebay, than If they really didn't know what the pack contains."

It would be like promoting the pack. which I wouldn't feel right about.

If the tracks are taken off any of those sources they more often than not are under CC or ALR. In any case, no one has a right to resell them (they were offered for free ffs)

If the seller posts the tracklist, he's opening himself up to more scrutiny as the producer and label can search for their names. They contact EBay, Ebay bans user and seller loses his rating.
