Hopefully the serial to usb works lol otherwise I might be popping your way to do the upgrade!

glad it's all sorted, personally i never use the platters as it sounds like i have the same issue they just don't respond quick enough like a 1210 hopefully that gets fixed when i also do mine, will let you know how it goes next week, we should hook up going forward might learn a few things as this digital lark is all new to me hehe..

Hiya mate update for you, tried with the serial to usb cable and nothing failed miserably, in the process it looks like I friend my VCI 100 at the same time! checked all the cables inside to see if any loose connections nothing, no power coming from the USB and my Mac can't even see it anymore so it looks like I might be about to ask Ean if he has any of his one still for sale.

No i have taken it apart from times checked the connections so on so forth, but the last time i plugged it in, the mac came out with the usb connection is pulling too much power and has been disconnected, sounds to me like a short of possibly earth issue either way i am clueless, so i think it's time to send it off the vestax get them to fix and do the upgrade, then possibly buy one of Ean's!

not a happy bunny and i know pc's inside out but this is a complete mystery to me at the moment.

just retried plugging it in and nothing go to be a short somewhere inside where i have moved something im guessing.

Tried both an external hub and a direct usb port nothing, it was via the external that it came up with the error message, will take one more look tommorow or maybe try it again when i have the proper cable, otherwise i am going to just ship it off to get fixed and the upgrade done to same me blowing it up

rather it fixed than break anything else.
