Question Gate toggle for drum racks?

I apologize if this has an obvious answer, but I am fairly new to Ableton and the whole music scene in general, and am having some problems.

I am working on a set that requires lots of bass and such, and am using a Launchpad S. Anyways, I was wondering if there was a way to set the clips on the drum rack to require you to hold down the pad for the duration of the clip? Like the launch options for audio clips. When two bass clips are playing at the same time, it gets very wobbly and distorted, and obviously doesn't sound very good.

In simpler you can do it with Volume envelope, set sustain to 0db and short Release (15ms or thereabouts, so the end isn't to abrupt).

Bizarrely, some of my drum racks (from core library) seem to ignore note length/sustain completely, so if you're using these,
right click on simpler and select simpler>sampler and change 'Loop' setting to none in Filter/Global tab.

You can than convert it back to simpler (by right clicking again) or leave it in sampler.

Btw, you may want to try playing with the filter and filter envelope as well to shape the sample further.

If your using a launchpad with the drum rack the samples should only play while you hold the note. Check the release settings for your bass samples

You can also try setting your bass clips to the same choke group. That way only one of them will play at once. Check out this clip to see how to set up choke groups in drum rack:

Thank you all for your help. I haven't gotten a chance to watch that video, but I sure will. Hopefully I can get this thing done!
