Default DVS with just one Turntable ?

Hi - bit of a mad random late night idea just wanted to ask about, but this payday I'm hoping to finally get onto DVS - I'm planning to get a mixvibes soundcard to go with my Cross 3 software, and use (for now) my XDJ Aero as the mixer and hopefully get a DJM 850 next payday.

Thing is, my Aero's pretty wide and will be taking a fair bit of my desktop space (it usually lives on the shelf above). I could 'just' about fit two turntables on my desk in battle mode, but just wondered, is there a way I can just get by for now using one turntable and have the software output two channels but switch the truntable to control each deck in Cross in turn ?

I 'think' I've seen this before with Traktor, and if so is it possible with Cross (if not I'll get my Pro 2 license upgraded to Scratch Pro)?

If not I'll just get the two turntables and put the Aero behind it on the shelf (I do this already sometimes), but it'd just be easier for now if I didn't have to reach as far etc if it's possible to do this with just a single turntable.

Yes, this is absolutely possible with Traktor / Serato and a very frequently used feature. For mixvibes all you need is a function called "Instant doubles". Practically, the workflow is like this:

-You hook up everything to your mixer as normal, besides the missing turntable (but the DECK 2 OUT from the DVS soundcard will still go to the second channel IN of your mixer).

-You load a track and hit play on you turntable, as normal.

-You turn your other deck to INTERNAL mode and hit (constantly) PLAY.

-After the playing track is transitioned from mixing, you then bounce it to the other deck (the one in INTERNAL mode) and leave it there playing. To do this, you need the function "Instant doubles" because the track has to be replicated exactly in the same position/pitch, as the one in the actual deck.

-When you're done, you just repeat this cycle.

PS - cheers so much Kebzer - don't know why I missed your post but the info's very appreciated - explains the single turntable nicely thanks. Roll on payday
