Default Keep my maschine mk2 or get maschine studio

    Hey guys,

Saw that NI was having a sale on all their Maschine hardware (except the 99.99 studio software upgrade). I was/am tempted at getting the studio hardware over my mk2 but something's holding me back. I'm not sure what, I almost feel like I'd be re-buying the hardware all over again but with better screens that I don't really use on my mk2 anyways. I'm still using the older version of maschine software, I had not paid for the upgrade. The mk2 would collect dust I'd imagine if I got the studio hardware and nobody would buy it anyways as it's now considered 'old'.

Are there any other MK2 users out there that had or are having a similar experience? I could possibly be buying into NI's marketing hype again, get it now before it's gone baloney

Just got the Studio myself since the sale price is so good. For me the screens where everything, not having to look at the laptop at all, even for rather detailed editing is sooo nice. I didn't have a MKII, but I did own an MKI for awhile and the studio is loads better IMO.

Congrats! It's another one or those things where the software makes the hardware. The studio hardware breaks out the shift functions and adds larger color screens. Just not sure if the extra cash should be spent on that vs just the 99.99 software upgrade or if it is even the intent to get mk2 users into the studio hardware?

Do you think the extra features justify the price difference? Personally I prefer the MKII. It doesn't take up much space and has the same functions as the studio via shift button. I use my MKII for live performance when I'm DJing, so the MKII works for me because it's more portable. However, if you're only using Maschine at home, the Studio has a much faster workflow. Many of the functions are spread to dedicated buttons, and those gorgeous screens show you EVERYTHING. It keeps your eyes and hands on the hardware instead of the computer. If you have the extra money to dish out, I'd say go for it... You'll automatically get the 2.0 software upgrade when you buy the studio (that's a hundred bucks saved right there) and you can make up some money lost by selling your MKII.
I knew a girl, who tried to walk across the lake.
Of course it was winter, when all this was... Ice...
