That's what's keeping mine at bay!
Actually I seem to have gotten some while doing some production work while traveling. Just my left ear, and it's not annoying or anything, but it certainly acts up after loud music so I've been extra cautious lately, even spinning with my earplugs in even though I mix pretty quiet as it is so as to avoid my neighbors coming over.
I've got these which seem to work pretty well: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1. I know they go well under my headphones and are barely noticable externally. They seem to do a good job taming the highs. The pillbox for these is annoying though because the ear plugs barely fit in it, so sometimes you have to do a lot of work just to get the damn things out.
For now, I guess I'll keep drinking coffee like it's going out of style.![]()

You know what sucks? Every time I read these threads the ringing gets louder in my ears cause I notice it. Stop talking about it! it isn't there....it isn't there.....
After going to the ENT and having my hearing tested. My right ear, which doesn't have any ringing, is fine. The left ear, which has the ringing, doesn't hear high pitches as well as it should. So good news/bad news.
The doctor put me on a 5 day dose of methylprednisolone to see if that would help. I hope like hell it does the trick.

I found I could hear fine above and below the frequency that rings when I did that test. I cannot hear certain frequencies at all.
best of luck, hang in there your brain will adjust if you let it!
I was told that tinnitus could be a sign of high blood pressure... and to get that checked. It was also suggested I cut down on (or cut out, completely) anything that would contribute to high blood pressure, like; salt, sugar, caffeine, nicotine, and foods high in (bad) cholesterol and to increase physical exercise... OK!
I've noticed that without any coffee, cigarettes, and improved physical exercise, the ringing has subsided a good amount. I'm actually looking forward to talking to my doctor about my options.
My blood pressure is excellent. Even with caffeine and nicotineI do eat healthy already though and am generally a mellow person.
I could definitely use some exercise.
