No, I'm saying you're silly, talking nonsense about things you know nothing about.
They have already told us why they sold their AV business
"Pioneer is jettisoning the division for the express purpose of focusing their efforts on their larger car navigation business which accounts for about 70% of the company’s revenues. Pioneer sees greater growth opportunities in this and related technologies."
All those Chinese cars...don't have to watch Wall Street to get it.

The quality of Pioneer DJ gear whether you believe it to be bad or good has nothing to do with why they are thinking about selling off their DJ division. Chances are that if they do sell it that the buyer will keep it the exact same way and never change anything. Pioneer is still the industry standard, there is no denying that. The reason is because back when the shift from turntables to CDJ started about 15 or so years ago, Pioneer made the best CDJ, simple as that. It hasn't been until the last few years that other options that work just as well and reliable have equaled that quality. Will a controller ever become the industry standard, maybe. Clubs expect DJ's to promote and have a following so why not think its possible for clubs to just have a space for a controller and laptop and expect the DJ to bring their own gear. The other arguement about Pioneer getting out of the DJ business because they for see the fall in popularity of "EDM" is just ridiculous and moronic. Pioneer DJ just didn't start 5 years ago, they were around long before today's "EDM" and to suggest their entire business hedges on the popularity of "EDM" is just stupid. They are thinking about selling to focus on the product that makes up 80% of the company's business. Simple as that.
If you read my post back I pointed out that it was "Everyone's a DJ culture", which although it goes hand in hand with EDM actually started shortly before the Dubstep boom.
Anyway, a quick look at Pioneer's sales figures show they had a great time when this started until the end of 2012 when they bombed hard. Their stock is now hitting a point similar to the bad times of pre-2012. The issue with Pioneer is once you've got a piece of Pioneer gear it lasts for a long time. They saturated the market with their products (Clubs get them at cost price, moderately big names get them for free) and now no one needs to buy them because they already have them. They've managed to claw their way back up to a pretty good level, and they know now is a safe time to get out and get involved in FX pedals for the rock resurgence that's coming in a few years.

Americans need to learn that the world is a little bigger than you think. EDM and the produces many hate are not the talk in Tokyo. Rock has been cool for 50+ years, nobody wants to go to a disco and listen to rock. Death of the American hard-on for EDM has no effect on clubs around the world.
