Honestly NI has been lacking on software updates in my opinion :/ serato has past the threshold when it come to features.

....at roughly twice the price, depending on which level you're talking about.

As I said, I'm used to not upgrading right away.....running pro tools will do that to you. I haven't really felt left out.

Thanks. If they don't have it in a week it looks like I'm on Serato for my Saturday residency.

No issues here on clean install, latest TSP and S4 MK II.

It's shocking their wait until after release to start updates when it's been in beta for months for exactly this reason, lots of apps from smaller developers can be updated the same say Yosemite is released so what is the excuse of the big companies that have a huge work force?

HiDPI displays have been around for a few years now yet we're still left with pixelated rubbish.

Can't thank you enough. You posted this literally minutes before I was about to install Serato for my set tonight.

    1) Bigger companies have more "intertia" in what they're doing, and it takes longer for them to make, test, approve, and release changes than a small team....assuming we're comparing equal priority levels.

    2) What does traktor actually look like on a Retina display? Shouldn't it just make all of the interface elements small, and if so....why does it matter?

I'm sorry fellas but I have to pick you up on this. I hear this exact statement with every single update of OS X and it is utter nonsense.
NI do not test their product range (remember it's not just Traktor) on 'beta' versions of OS. It would be a fruitless think to do as Apple can, at any point, break things in the next beta that can make months of testing redundant.

This is the kinda thing I hear from people that test the beta OS X but usually do not have to play live gigs with that OS.

NI have got a huge product range and they are currently releasing a load of new products (Keyboards, Komplete 10, KS8, Maschine etc) why ON EARTH would they be testing all these new products on a beta operating system when there is a (not very old) existing OS (Mavericks).

There are devs/alpha/beta testers all using Yosemite but the majority of the NI user base is on Mavericks and still are - not all people jump on the newest OS in the first days of release. So real world testing has to be on the current OS.

They are now testing everything on Yosemite but any DJ worth a damn will not update his OS until the product maker has had enough time to fully test it.

I've had a slew of people updating to Yosemite and having issues despite NI having published a warning not to update.

    IT BEGGARS BELIEF.

I'd also point people to the issues that Apple have introduced into iOS that have caused headaches for lots of app developers. There's nothing to suggest the the same doesn't happen with OS X.

What advantages is Yosemite bringing to the working, gigging DJ ? because that should be NI's only concern.
New widgets a new email application and a fancy UI has nothing to do with DJing so why are people so over demanding and self absorbed about pushing things on so quickly??? I just don't get it.

well for one anyone getting a new mac for now on is going to be running Yosemite. So you MBP dies for what ever reason and you get a new one but you can't use it to DJ because NI decided to sleep thought the beta?
Yes they should focus on the OS current user base is on and at the same time be ahead of them self.
