    Default DJM 900 nexus +xdj1000 x 2 or DDJ-SZ+Macbook Pro

    Forum,

    I'm buying my first setup.

My knowledge on hardware is limited but what I am going to do is moving to an isolated area from january which gives me all time to practise. I will be staying for as long as necessary to get the hang of it after which I move to a city and start doing gigs as a mobile DJ at house parties and events. Then, as soon as possible, i want to become a club DJ.

Taking all this into consideration I would like to know what are your views on different pros and cons of having the DJM 900 nexus with 2 xdj-1000s compared to the DDJ-SZ.
I already have the Macbook Pro.

Im am currently in the same situation, although it is not my first set up. This is what I came up with:
    Pros for SX:
    - Costs less than half of the XDJ Set up
    - Hot cues on pads instead of touchscreen (huge factor for me)
    - Mappable to Serato and Traktor
    - Easier to transport

    Pros for XDJ Set up:
    - CDJ feel and look
    - Feels more organic/back to the roots (or at least I assume)
    - NO LAPTOP

In the end I have chosen to go for the SX, mainly due to the price and cue point management system. Take into account that the XDJ is the first of the series, and that if you dont like the touch screen, the XDJ 2000 or whatever will probably (hopefully) have pads. Thats what I would do if I had the money.

(SPECULATION: A SZ with screens and USB stick input (like a XDJ Aero, but with better screens and the body of the SZ))

    Hope this helps

I'd wait for the XDJ-2000 announcement that's gonna come in like a month
