Baked Chicken | Brown Rice | Asparagus | Apple Juice | Snack Wells | Pretzel Chips | Lots of Water
Looks nice, but I think I'll go for a 3d, regardless.
I'm not good at things, but I like to pretend I am.

Weird cause Ive read in the Scratchworks forum that you can connect a Backup audio source like an Ipod or whatever (in case of computer failure) and if your computer fails, you can still play the source through the mixer...
This would lead me to believe that there is some kind of analoge thing going on. How else would the unit sustain a sound output if the computer failed?
Perhaps only the Gain controls are Analoge?....Im confused...
Yeah the good thing is that there are RIAA/phono inputs for external decks.
This means in "THEORY" you could run Traktor Scratch & SSL through it !!!!!!!!!!
The mixer section must have analogue controls on at least 2 channels.
I think the Demo guy meant that there are no Analogue Contols on the Deck parts of the DX... I dont think he understood the customers question.
There are no A&H FX on the Unit as the Contoller sections are just midi contollers.
There are no Classic A&H FX contained in the new Itch..... FAIL.
I think the story about being able to have sound even if computer crashes is just like on the VCI-300... so basically the inputs will be bypassed to the output of the soundcard... much like the direct hardware monitoring on most "production soundcards"...
"... MERGENCY THRU SWITCH
The Emergency Thru Switch located on the rear panel is a countermeasure feature to avoid sound from stopping when the computer freezes. It instantly switches the output source from the computer to other audio players connected to the VCI-300. ...."
The inputs should be driven and controlled by ITCH ... so basically is just so that you can have someone use decks along with itch or mix different DJ setups!
My 2 cents,
Z

Yes as said above " there are RIAA/phono inputs for external decks "
I would bet that the mixer is in fact the same as the one in Xone 3D/4D. That means the mixer is analogue, you will be mixing "externally", the volume faders & EQ are "real", they do not send midi signals.
This is very good because the overall sound quality is better when you mix externally using a good analogue mixer.
The one thing I noticed about the pics of the DX is that there are no "SC" buttons on the Channels. On the 4D, each channel has two buttons that sends the hardware mixer signal to the soundcard. One for input and one for output.
