I had this problem on my controller as well I took a piece of 120 grit sandpaper put it on a flat counter and rubbed the bottom of the faders in a circle motion until they were about 2mm shorter. Took 2-3 minutes per fader looks completely Unmodified and sits like the factory faders. Hope this helps!
Hi guys/techtools,
I've been scrolling through this thread and found some amazing work that determined to publish mine. Congrats to all of you who had the guts to mod.
To mod or not to mod...
Well... my controller came to life from one axiom 49 1st gen and one korg nanokontrol (oh the almighty and god damn nanokontrol).
The axiom was easily moddable. It has separate pcbs for the different controls (volume faders/ encoders/ pads) which connect to the brain. The nanokontrol was the opposite. It has so tiny soldering points and the circuit board is printed on front and back so it is very difficult to follow the circuit of a button. Like the korg guys gathered all around and put their minds into not making this a moddable device. I've broken the circuits of 18 out of 24 buttons (because i took out the leds and the buttons started to send duplicate midi signal, even scene signals), but managed to save 8 leds for feedback purpose (sample play and fx on).
It took 2 month to build, about 3 hours a night, 91 buttons (spare ones included), 150gr of solder wire, 40 meters of speaker wire and some UTP wire, some wood, tools I use at work and a lot of patience. Total cost was about 160$ (including the axiom at 100$ selling price).
I have all the controls I need (and don't need). Per deck I have the nudge wheel, fx enable, hot cues, beat jump, loop and loop size, mixer with low kill, filter, gain, fx with dry/wet and amount (i use superknobs for group effects), and sample decks with basic play, fx enable, load from list/deck, filter, etc, and the browsing feature. And that's all it needs.

I hope for the v2 to come with more care and experience.
All the best,
Bogdan.

Hello! This is my Kontrol S8 with 2 turntables...
Hi! I've done these videos, basically for that indecisive people who don't know clearly what is the Kontrol S8 response to the scratching. I have received several e-mails from my youtube channel and djloomy.com, with questions about the ability of the Traktor Kontrol S8 to scratch, the feel, the cut, latency, construction, etc.
The Traktor Kontrol S8 has curve adjustments, the faders curves (soft) and cross-fader (knob), being perfectly usable for scratch session or advanced scratching, the crossfader is very soft and light.
The latency is minimal, these videos has been made with Kontrol S8 latency ajdusted to 128 (2,7ms-2.0 ms) 2.8.1.
Traktor Kontrol S8 Construction is really robust, quickly giving that sense of "Pro gear" as you put hands on it.
Here I leave a small video samples recorded from mobile phone ...I hope you like it
Soon I'll upload more scratch videos with the S8.

Anyone still using the LPD8? I just replaced the little shitty stock pots with normal 10k. It took 1 day of work but the is result quite nice. And since I'm using it vertically it's nice to have the middle position at 12o'clock.

Im a noob and never knew so controllers can be modded! have to mod mine and post here later
@loadcueplay: Great mod, especially the new center (I got used to having it sideways). Last I did is swap long/short caps on Novation and two LPD8s. Love my novation with short caps.
