Hey midifidler and others
I'm having the exact same problem, how did you fix it in the end? Is a a full vista re-install the only way get my VCI working?
Thanks
From the vesax website
Reports say that the VCI-100 was identified with TRAKTOR after un-installing drivers and software sold under the trademark of Logitech WEB camera (QuickCam , Qcam). A system file titled "lvubsta.sys" is created inside the driver file folder of USB audio device when the subject software and drivers are installed. It seems that this file blocks the USB MIDI controllers from being identified by the software. This system file cannot be deleted or un-installed singularly, and the system may possibly become unstable if done so. DO NOT perform this procedure. If you wish to un-install the software and drivers at your own risk, we recommend un-installing it from the "Add or Remove program" tool
Hi
Thanks for that, but i've already seen all the things on the vestax site, and it's not the camera issue that's my problem, that sys file isn't on my system.
Thanks for the effort though
Im having a problem where the vestax inst working with vista on my laptop, but it works fine on my dekstop which has vista also. It wont get the drivers for some reason, when I plug it into usb port and turn it on, the red power light comes on and thats it. It wont get drivers. I think though it installed the drivers before, how do I check if it has? But now it doesnt seem to work. Any help?
It seems like all these problems (which I'm also having) stem from some kind of driver conflict? Can someone explain how to clear out potential problem drivers? I don't have a logitech webcam installed, I do have another similar webcam though... maybe that was it? I wouldn't know where to find the problem drivers though.
same problem here with a new vci100 & an imac 10.5 leopard. unit powers up, is listed in the usb devices on system info, but no drivers get installed. vci works fine with a hp laptop windows7, drivers uploaded automatically. vestax have provided no answer, gee they're helpful. must be a common fix?
Ok so just to throw up a bit of my own progress if it helps anyone else. I bought driver detective (google it) to help me find out what problem drivers I had and the like. When I connected my VCI driver detective listed it as connected to an out of date driver, which was;
Sabrent USB-AVCPT TV Tuner Driver
Version 1.0.2.3
Driver date 27/09/2006
I've no real idea what this thing is. I did some research and it appears to come from a AV capture device I've personally never used. I have a feeling that these drivers may have been installed by some other device, possibly the shoddy webcam I used something like a year ago.
I installed the driver recommended for the device (even though it was for a TV tuner and I'm trying to get a plug n play MIDI device to work), rebooted and tried the device then. It didn't work. I uninstalled the driver, rebooted and tried the device then, it didn't work. Checking driver detective again it still thinks there's an out of date driver with the 2006 date. This makes me think that like the logitech webcam driver this might be another problem filtering driver install that doesn't properly remove itself from the registry.
However I don't know enough about messing about in regedit to find the problem instances and remove them. If anyone has any tips on that it would be greatly appreciated!
