Default setup questions to xone or not to xone

    Ok Guys and girls,

Here is the question, i have been playing(techno, Deep house) with my current setup for a year now, this setup is as follows:

    Kontrol S8
    Kontrol F1
Maschine studio and/or Ableton 9.5 and push.

A friend of mine got the Xone 92 mixer and i completely fell in love with it, love the sound and the filters.

So i was thinking of trading in the S8 and go for a more modular setup either the Xone 92 or the Xone db4 and ad 2 Native instrument D2's for controlling traktor.

So the Xone 92 needs a external sound-card and then its go, hook up maschine or ableton en rock on..

The DB4 has a (good) internal soundcard so no need to bring extra cables etc etc, hook up to laptop and maschine or push and go

Also the DB4 is coming into reach due to the fact i found a second hand one for a really neat price(same as a new xone 92)

Been reading a bit about the db4 and it seems to be having some problems with macbooks and usb 3 ?
For now i am still on a windows based pc but want to switch in the near future to a mac as for live preforming its seems a stabler solution. also the loop mode on the db4 seems to be off some times, don't need it though, traktor is great in this.

Also when using the db4, can i still make use of the internal traktor effects ? do the effects of the DB4 sync up to beat (beat detection) ?

anyone an idea about this setup ? am i missing something ? thanks in advance...

    Rob

I sold my s8 not to long ago to do the same thing as you. I went with a 900nexus because I got it for a stupid price and I have to say that I love the new function because the mixer itself adds a whole extra level of effects and I can swap whatever I want into the setup. Also if your gonna be playing in the club they usually have a 900 in the booth so you just need to bring whatever accessories you want to play with. The xones are sweet they just seem to be more of a traditional mixer used best with non computer type interfaces for the best performance thats just my 2 cents though.
    Setup - DJM-900Nexus, Kontrol F1, Kontrol x1 MK2, Lenovo Yoga 11s i7 8gig ram, 256 SSD.

Going modular is great, but make sure you do get an external sound card with at least 4 stereo outs. Just in case you show up somewhere that doesnt have a mixer with built in soundcard. Otherwise, you will be carrying that expensive mixer with you to every gig.
