    Its possible to reduce the resolution, but to increase the resolution is just flat out impossible. You could convert a 7 bit message into a 14 bit message but it will still have the same resolution as the 7 bit message that it started out as, just wrapped up in a 14 bit midi message. Which would only serve to chew up more bandwidth with absolutely no performance bonus.

    Yeah, figured that out with the more reading I did. When I first got into it I thought it would be a no brainer but it didn't make sense, then I realized why, you'd still only have the 0-127 resolution, even if it's in the 14 bit packaging.
