I wasn't hating on him, he is the god of DJing... I've seen him live a few times and and enjoyed his sets. My comment was specifically about the music. It's relatively flat.

Then again, I'm more of a 160bpm-190bpm kinda guy.

I stopped caring about this exact thing a long time ago.. you'll never get a good explanation other than that person imposing their opinion on you.

As for Carl's setup, I really like it, also demonstrates that these guys move with the times. Last time I saw him live, he was on a techno set with vinyl. Class.

I'm not surprised that Carl Cox uses D2's. Even before the word "Stem" had been coined, he'd been layering percussive sounds on a 3rd turntable.

As for waiting for the drop - he'll get you there. And when it does, it will be perfect.

I can tell you this, though...

You CANNOT experience a Carl Cox set on Youtube. He plays parts LOUD. And it matters.

I only heard CC live once, and it just sounded like the mix was coming at you all the time. He was about the only house/techno DJ to use 3 x Technics. It was constantly exciting. 9 hours, woah...

Nice clean setup; couple os D2's, and CDJ's

The transition from CECE Rogers 'Someday' into The Doors 'This is The End' is the business.

And Junior Vasquez 'Get Your Hands Off My Man' must have kicked off Big Time
