Default [home lighting] Custom LED curtain (small skirt)? or other ideas?

I'm not sure of the cost, but I'm thinking of building one of these, custom sized for the skirt of the riser that my decks and mixer are on.

Dimensions for my setup skirt are 1440mm by either 150mm or 110mm

I already have some black trouser material to use for it.

    I've sent them an email.

    are there any other options?

I want to get some more custom lighting other than the ikea RGB LED strips that I have around my setup.
depending on how viable the above is, i would do it, but if it isn't, then can anyone suggest anything?

I want some control of it, but can't have sound to light as I don't use speakers.

Shop around on ebay or aliexpress, there are lots and lots of options, ideally, you're really looking for 'addressable' strips, the newest (and best) are the ws2812 or ws2812B based strips.

They come in 30 leds/metre, 60 leds/metre and 140 leds/metre, about $20 a metre for the 60Leds/metre. You'll need a power supply of some description, which you'll have to work out from the current usage per metre. You will also need a controller, you can get those on ebay for about $20 upwards, usually with a built in power supply. Or you can build your own using something like an arduino or even an attiny board.

Adafruit also do a range of led units based on the ws2812 chips, strips of 8, a led ring with 16 leds in it, or an 8x8 array of leds, along with the strips + ideas on how to hook them up and libraries to control them too, just search the adafruit website for neopixel

You could also look into something like Madrix to drive it assuming the LEDs are DMX addressable. Good times to be had with that program.

You can buy dmx controllers for the ws2812 leds :-)

I'm trying to run ws2812B leds with my attiny85. My arduino doesn't have any problems with this code, however, my attiny doesn't seem to support anything over 128 pixels. Power isn't the problem, connections aren't the problem either. My assumption is that the Attiny85 just doesn't support any more than 128 pixels. (which seems strange to me). any thoughts?

the problem is most likely that the attiny 85 has run out of ram, it's only got 512 bytes for everything to run in.

Wo you think that this will allthough work with 1903 IC LED's? The cost only 50% of the WS2811

I've made one last year, 2mx1m with 1800 Leds on WS2812B, as a backdrop kind of thing. But I've decided that PCV curtain wasn't the way forward, so I'm planing to make a solid frame 'screen' of the same size.

Anyhow, the easiest way to control these is with a SD card 'off-line' controller, i.e. you can program your own patterns on a PC to use with LEDs, the downside is that this isn't synchronised with music.

I went with an on-line controller that basically allows for a screen capture in real time from your computer (mine is Windows only)
and using Resolume for video clips playback. It worked pretty well.

As far as build is concerned, it's pretty straightforward with WS2812B, 3 wires, DC and signal. You just go from one strip to another. Taking in to an account any power loss with larger builds. ( I didn't…live and learn, lol)

I've got all my stuff from Alliexpress Ray wu's store, and it arrived in UK fairly quickly.

    30LED/m strips:

    And controller:

As mentioned above, there are other options, from arduino to DMX to SPI converters and 'dream colour' controllers, like tho one below, witch has pre-programmed patterns and even a remote, for simple setups

in the video it is ws2801 led stirp 5V, but now i think it is best for you use each led individual 12V SK6812 LED Strip , rather than use 5V individual , as 12V voltage drop is much less ,color is much better
