Gaining Traction On Soundcloud And Other Social Media Platforms

The more I think about this the more I think it's a mistake on SC's part... I've found quite a few tracks through groups that I almost certainly wouldn't have otherwise found. Now they're sort of "filtering" that through the musical tastes of folks who:

1. Run repost channels
2. Run repost channels that people can locate

Feels like a step backwards in terms of user empowerment!

Support alternatives? Other platforms have the functionality and just need the critical mass.

I think SC will head down the same road as Myspace....

Personally, i have noticed zero drop off in plays since groups were removed.

Same here but I can't compare my personal and label accounts to ones with less of a following, so I can see how groups helped them get plays. Although.... I still do believe that most plays you'd get from groups were bots anyways.

Re-reposting on Soundcloud is now dead

Only choices to continue to promote your songs and mixes would be to:

Create a new playlist so the track/mix appears again at the top of everyone's feeds
Swap reposts with other artists/pages
Use download gates so it forces those downloading to repost your track/mix when downloading
Pay for reposts through promo networks on Soundcloud
Submit your tracks to blogs for exposure/write ups

Hypeddit has a great platform to host your tracks and mixes and also has an extensive list of promo labels and networks you can submit your track to for repost consideration.
