Midi Fighter Pro Bricked. Fixed. How to fix 2024

I bought a bricked MF pro recently. After a few hours of trial and error, I was able to write the firmware back into the MF and now it works perfectly. The informations already available here were very helpfull and appreciated, but also a bit outdated. I couldn't connect with the utility and this guide http://bit.ly/Ssp6pb didn't work.
So, for future reference, here's how I did it:
If, like me, your MF is not responding and the MF utility not detecting, save some time and forget about doing it on a Mac. I had to use my old job laptop running windows 10. These instructions are for windows. Your must be loged as administrator. You must be a bit of a nerd and/or stubborn.
#1- Download and install the midi fighter utility at https://store.djtechtools.com/pages/...ighter-utility The most recent MF firmwares will then be located in your program files C:\Program Files\DJTechTools\Midi Fighter Utility\firmware. Find the one that matches your MF.
#2- Download and Install JAVA for windows https://www.java.com/en/download/hel..._download.html
#3- Download and install JDK (JAVA development kit) for JAVA at https://www.oracle.com/java/technolo...#jdk21-windows
#4- Download and install Atmel Flip 3.4.7 software for windows at https://www.microchip.com/en-us/development-tool/flip This software will be used to write the firmware.
#5- Download and install jungo windriver. https://jungo.com/windriver/ This contains the driver used to interface the atmel software with the MF microcontroller. Note that you will have to register for a 30-day trial.
#6- By now, if you followed the steps, you should have the Jungo Connectivity device installed and the Windriver 1620 drivers. Make sure it is installed correctly by following these steps: in the windows search box on the taskbar, type device manager, then select Device Manager from the menu. Device manager will open. Look for jungo connectivity, unfold, you should see Windriver 1620.
#7- Now it's time to write the flash on the MF microcontroller.
7.1: Open the Atmel Flip software,
7.2: Press the chip logo and select AT90USB162 (MF and MF pro. IDK about the other MFs)
7.3: In the top menu, press file then load HEX file. select the firmware file from your program files (see step #1)
7.4: Connect Your MF usb cable
7.5: Get your MF in Bootloader mode as descibed at http://bit.ly/Ssp6pb (I had to unscrew my MF pro and use the two red buttons). This can
take a few tries.
#8- In the Atmel sofware, press on the usb cable icon to connect. The software should connect with the MF.
#9- Press run. Reboot. Voila.
Hope it helps. Feel free to correct errors and/or comment. MFs that were handmade in Cali are built very well and will likely last a long time.
