I'm sort of crazy about this kinda stuff and I've beat down a few security guys and bouncers here and there, I believe you did the right thing, some people just deserve an ass kicking.

I like fighting sometimes, the more the guys an asshole the more I like fighting.

edited to add that a few bouncers have whooped my ass too, but only in teams, those pussies.

Fucking car crash of a thread and time to close it in my opinion.
I'm with Karlos on this one.

There are plenty of sites out there that people can go to and talk about this kind of thing, lets not make DJTT one of them.

Yeah this was on the sidewalk out in the open public at the entry so they weren't stupid enough to retaliate, just restrain me.

To the other poster, Webster Hall bouncers are total dicks and their club nights are horrible, it's one of the worst clubs in general the only problem is they get a lot of good acts so it's hard to avoid the place. Even for some of the good DJs they get they keep damn 'VIP' couches in the middle of the dance floor that end up getting overthrown and everyone standing and tripping on them it's ridiculous.

My main problem is bouncers denying entry to a TICKETED CONCERT. This wasn't normal club nights, people pay in advance and unless there is a damn good reason to keep someone out everyone has a right to go to the event they paid in advance for and can't get refunded.

thats a good point as well, denying someone entry when they have already paid is fraud and theft, you should have hit him twice.

[QUOTE=I'm just a small white guy and I just punched a six foot black bouncer in the face.[/QUOTE]

So what did race have to do with this? Isn't a jerk a jerk? Wouldn't a huge white guy be scary to you also?

I am very sorry for your situation, but just wonder why his race mattered.

Why does everyone get so sensitive about this? Race is relevant to telling the details of the story so people can picture the situation, he was a big black bouncer who was much larger and stronger than me and I'm sure more experienced in fighting (he's a bouncer). It is completely relevant, if he was a big white or hispanic bouncer I would have said so too. I think the people that say things like that are more racist than the people they are trying to call out as being racists, since you are making race the issue, not me.

I played at Webster Hall last year on tour with Cox and the bouncers were nothing but nice to us. They kept the stage clear of people and allowed us to let anyone into the VIP as long as we gave them the go ahead. IMO they did a good job...

If you look drunk then maybe they shouldn't let you in, look what happened when you weren't drunk, you punched the guy...

Yeah, I'd say you were at the VERY least confrontational when you shouldn't have been. Rule #1 of being a punter: The Staff is always right.

Smile, be friendly, don't get defensive (I know it's hard) and do NOT under any circumstances try to call any authority figure a liar.

'I'm sorry, You're too intoxicated, I can't let you in.'
    'I'm not drunk!'
    -----
You just called him a liar.

    'you were speeding, sir'
    'no I wasn't, officer.'
    ---
you just called him a liar.

You never know, if he wasn't receptive to your civil discussion, maybe you could come back with a couple of coffees and a 20 spot and have a coffee with him, after he 'sees' you sober up and the extra bill he's likely to let you in.

There is always a civil solution.

Although I can't really agree with taking any violent measure when it can be easily avoided, Xonetacular's experience isn't really an isolated incident. I don't live in New York, but a quick google search shows hes not alone in feeling the way he does.

Apparently these guys are reputed assholes lol.

With respect this is not reality.
The bouncer though the guy was drunk. The bouncer has a right to stop anyone entering an event if he suspects hes drunk.

Yes the bouncer may have been a meat-head but does this surprise anyone here. Bloody hell people get real.

Monika is 100% correct . You dont piss off the staff of the venue.
Ive worked in clubs all my adult life and i know the shit that bar staff, security and obviously DJs get ALL THE FUCKING TIME night after night the same old shit from wise ass pricks.

I am not in any way saying that the OP is a wise-ass prick but you just dont bother messing with bouncers.

And i cant believe (or actually work out) that the guy came back to enflame shit. Fucking gang mentality is so lame and pathetic.

Theres a club in my town where the bouncers have a rep for being a bit handy. Everyone knows it and it seems that the OP knew what the bouncers were like so why even bother having a go. The bouncers are expecting it, they want the trouble. Blokes are always having a pop at the guys at the club in my town. The worse the bouncers rep the more idiots push there buttons and make things worse.

Believe me nobody in this thread is coming over as a tough guy.
