    So what's the point of the competition? To see who has the best mix? Most votes? What factor carries the most weight?

    sounds like a good opportunity to win some decent schwag, get an agent and play an amazing event.

    my only skepticism is how much clout winning the comp would be gained by the winner. how would other djs in the industry who got to where they are the old fashioned way react to this? would the winner necessarily be warmly accepted by the scene as someone who's credible - or shunned by key players in the scene?

    probably shunned since they do one thing to get them in the same door as those who came up the hard way

    yeah i think we all know how geezers generally respond to young guys "not paying their dues"..... not particularly supportive.

    but it would be nice to get some new gear and a few gigs before the agent's contract is up. my guess is that the agent only owes the winner a certain amount of hours/gigs before he isn't obligated to represent the winner anymore.

    i'd give it a shot myself, but i'm signed up for college full time in 2010 and my priorities are education for a real career over being "a superstar dj". :P

    I haven't entered a competition in a while, and am definitely interested

    Shame there's basically no details of deadlines for mixes, how they get assessed, round/heats system, etc. etc. as I'd like to know more but I can't seem to find any more information...

    @Lantau

    Under "NGDJ Info", click "Rules".

    You will need 200 votes by January 31st, after which the quality of the vote (1-5) determines your placement.

    Good luck Tech Tooler!
