Yea get the Audio2! It will be the perfect start, &be useful when you get a controller regardless if it has a built in sound card (quality wise.) you infact need a extenal sound card to prelisten using a PC, one that can give out two channels, one being the master (playing what ever tracks the crossfader is over to, or both tracks if in the middle) and the other channel being whatever your cuing (for the most part the song your about to bring in to the mix in order to get it ready, meaning the speed, alignment or "phase", EQ's effects, you get it..)

In the case of the Audio2 a "Y wire" is needed cause it's out pus are 2 guitar style 1/4 inch outputs, in which case you'd need a 3.55 to 1/4 addapter that looks like this

you'll plug in the adapter to the Audio2 then the 3.55mm end of the "y wire" to the adapter, then the RCA end to your speaker. then get another adapter (the same one) to plug your head phones into the "cue" of the Audio2

    Thanks again Stephen!

Ok, so I'm going to get the Audio2. It says on the website the outputs are 1/4", so I hope that's what you meant, or else not I'm more confused haha. In fact, I was rooting around in my room and found a 3.55 to guitar size 1/4" converter! What luck!

So using the Audio2 will allow me to practice from the PC and learn the basics, correct?
Then perhaps later down the road I will invest in a controller like the Hercules Steel I've read a ton about. Should be enough for what I'm doing I hope!

sound adviceso windows users with pc's are now only using hacked software.and because he is trying to learn djing and doesn't want to be commited to this expense before is beyond you??.i think alot of people use the best equipment available to compensate for their lack of talent.if you got the basics and can grab attention using it then invest bud .

my advice is to get an audio 2 for about £80.you have 2 outputs 1 for headphones,1 for speakers.invest in a jack to phono lead to plug into your household stereo/soundsystem and your on your way.

for lance:-i will probably invest in a couple of your tracks but they could be made using a basic daw and free plug ins with the right person behind a windows based pc.

Er dude, im not seeing the point of going into Lances production techniques in this thread ???
Hes a really well respected artist and pretty damn successful from what i can gather.

Music doesnt HAVE to be groundbreaking it just has to be good. I think Lance is covered here.

Also i think Lance was just asking if he was PC or Mac. He wasnt saying that only PC users steal the software.

The point about the Audio2 is spot on. You get the upgrade option to go from Traktor LE to Traktor Pro and it saves you £80 so that means the soundcard is free kinda.
    Awesome deal.

yo calvin, when i first joined DJTT i was pretty turned off by what I call the "car show" mentality that a lot of people give out. basically bragging about there stuff with more pride then there talent, if showing talent even at all.... I really put myself out so much trying to show people the error of there ways, it took the attention off the point of my existence here: to learn & teach new idea's. granted i agree with you about people talking like there the Jones's next door that will always be better cause they have more shit, but Lance for instance is a artest point is pick your battles wisely cause you seem real cool & it's just a common DJ/Producer's mentality, no harm meant behind it.

I really didn't mean for this somehow to get into a e-fight!

Back on track, I am ordering the Audio2 today, should have it by the end of the week I'm hoping! Comes with Traktor LE, although I already have Pro.

Since I'm not buying a controller at this time, just trying to get used to the software, I will just be learning all I can through Traktor on my PC. Any tips on the best way to learn digitally, since I can't use multiple hands to control crossfade, EQ, pitch and so on on a controller?
I basically want to get great at mixing trance track together with smooth transitions if that helps.

    Thanks!

it's always a good start to watch all the youtube videos on traktor tutorials to get a basic run threw of traktors elements, just so you the ropes. it'll make you at least want to order a used X session pro.

point taken guys i've deleted what was needed.but the thread was started by someone looking for help and was then undermined by someone who afterwards didn't really give any worthy advice.so why comment at all.i found it to be quite arrogant for lance to suggest that he hoped it wasn't cracked software.anyways this is an open forum and i've said what i felt.
