    Why arent your tracks analysed?
For Traktor to run smoothly you should have all your tracks analysed and in a collection.
If you analysing whilst your playing thats gonna be problematic.

Are you dragging from explorer off the external drive into Traktor?

What version of Traktor are you using? There are no cacheing options now, Traktor uses an 'Intelligent Cache System'.

[QUOTE=Karlos Santos;93227]Why arent your tracks analysed?

For Traktor to run smoothly you should have all your tracks analysed and in a collection.

I have a lot of tracks to be analyzed 39k+. When I import them into my collection All the Artist tags are all screwed up. That's why I made play lists and dragged my music to them and then analyzed them. I think once I have my play lists analyzed I should be good. Thou, I'll need to backup those up.

If you analysing whilst your playing thats gonna be problematic.

    I'm starting to see that.

Are you dragging from explorer off the external drive into Traktor?

I'm using the search window within Traktor and then right-clicking and sending them to the deck I want.

What version of Traktor are you using? There are no cacheing options now, Traktor uses an 'Intelligent Cache System'.

I'm using TP 1.1.2 since the newer version(s) were giving the problems I stated earlier

I have the same Mac as you by the look of things.

    Ill keep looking into it.
Ill forward your ticket to support now and put an advise on it that its ongoing.
Just to add a little more to this (waveform disappearing bug): Karlos, I'm glad you are in on this thing. Any extra help is appreciated.

Jimbob5000: Dude, thank you so much for your intensive testing. I think your post above would also be a great thing to get into the hands of the right people at NI.

I myself have ONLY experienced this problem with AAC files bought from iTunes. I have not done any encoding/re-encoding so I can't speak for that. The tough thing about this bug is that it doesn't happen with all files of the same type. We can't seem to nail down what it is that fuggles one AAC file and not another. However, for people that are experiencing this, the behaviour seems to be extremely consistent. The file will play through fine, but if you reach the end, or near the end, and move backwards - either by scrubbing, jumping or looping, the waveform will disappear from the playback point onward. The various videos out there are excellent and show the problem precisely.

It seems unrelated to OS, soundcard, drivers or internal/external mode. I have reproduced this with my internal soundcard, AK1, and both internal and external modes.

I also have files I am willing to send to anyone who wants to test. I've sent copies to NI, but have not heard back.

@Zac: Have you tried downloading the m4a files I have prepared? I would be really interested if this is related to specific files or it differs randomly from user to user. Inthe .zip there is one m4a that does work on my system and one that doesn't (and they're legal btw). It might be helpful to know how they behave on your side. If the problem can be reproduced on different machines with the same file, and another file works on the same computers, this might help someone with a little more insight into file structure and management to pinpoint the cause of the problem.

    OK little update.
I accidentally encountered this waveform with an iTunes aac file.
Totally random and the track played fine after re-loading it.

Exactly the same results as you guys.
Also tried Jimbobs tracks and the first one has the missing wave form. Re-loaded and it played fine.

I took a video of both and ill send them to NI.

    Will report back..!

Not yet, I dl'ed, but have been working on some other things. I'll try it out tonight.

@Karlos: Awesome to hear you reproduced it. I was beginning to think the rest of us got trapped in a parallel crazy universe. Hopefully you can get some folks to move on it!

Hah yeah im not as chuffed as you to have hit this issue but yeah your right it does mean i can make a good case now (although i have tried twice before).

The clip i have is indisputable. Of course re-loading fixes the problem BUT it shouldnt be there in the first place.

Update as soon as i have something.

Tried these out tonight, after the party. "Working" file is fine. "Non-working" is toast...

Great! Now we have two files that are confirmed to show the same behaviour on at least three different machines.
(Not that any file not loading properly is a good thing in itself)
