Hmmm... the Midifigher seems a bit too expensive for what I want. I just need something simple for cue point juggling. How exactly does the x/y pad work?

X/y I think sends out two messages and acts like two knobs maybe also a button incorporated but I dont own one so can't elaborate on that.
I think the major issue is what ean mentioned in the akai vs korg mini battle that the x/y is cool but breaks fast and then sends out random MIDI messages.. that'd suck. The lpd8 is cool as well..
3 msgs, x y and general touch (for lack of a better word).
for effects i have just touching it turns effect on and cranks amt to full, and then x and y do the other bits - in addition to the usual effects parts on my vci, just gives another way to do it.
working on a remap so i have an xy tailored to my favorite 3 effects, and one for something else (not sure what yet though). but this then affects my button layout as i'll need a focus toggle.
also haven't had the problem with the random msgs yet but then only got mine back in nov/dec time, so maybe things have been improved a bit?
does the Nanopad have touch sensitivity? I didn't think it did.
but regardless, they are two COMPLETELY different feels. the click/click of the arcade buttons is amazing. If you want velocity control then go for something more like the nanopad. but if all you want is cue point triggers and play/pause triggers than you'll be golden with the arcade buttons.
well, as long as you're cool with setting them up yourself.
the buttons are sensitive to being touched... does that count?
and the arcade buttons allow for a bit more rapid fire of cue points for juggling, saying that the nanopad has a 'roll' feature that does a similar job, or is the flam button? one does it to the buttons and one does a same kind of thing for the xy pad. really should use them buttons more often...![]()
