Are you kidding? I have the last model non unibody 15" MBP and I run S4 + Maschine (using an audio2/4/8) and a midifighter with no issues at all.
Not to mention I also run Ableton on it too.

Sorry i didnt mentionned the problem! Problem with vci-100 and some midi USB... There were a post on vestax website...
I have only seen one mac user in my life use a mac to its potential (Running a 12 core 24 gig mac pro for optical signal simulations). I was hoping for some wow factor with this newer edition...I mean i would take an i3 and an ssd over a i5 and same old 5400rpm? hdd.
I was so let down by this model, I mean hp will probably be putting sandy bridge in their laptops in about a month and apple is just releasing the wait....they make it pretty tough to find a model number for the CPUSs????but probably the old nahelems.
Thunderbolt will be the new firewire which is great but honestly I never use it, esata or usb 3.0 which will be the industry standard for almost everything required to get data off of, and $30+dollar adapters(probably 50 if it runs on optics) will be needed to convert to any other type of external device that isn't apple.
Im really bummed, Ive been a pc guy all my life and I finally started to come around to macs. I went and told everyone about the release and how I was ordering one and then i just get let down by once again terrible hardware that I can't justify paying for. And the new thunderbolt which will be completely pointless.

after reading the press, i see three shortcomings: (i) quicksync, imo *the* coolest feature of sandy bridge, isn't available on os x (yet?); (ii) highest resolution available on the 13" is 1280x800 which is ridic low; (iii) only 2 x usb in 13" and 15".
thunderbolt is a welcome surprise; as is the very fair pricing for the 128GB SSD upgrade--just $250. that's quite reasonable and not just by apple standards (apple upgrade prices are usually pretty insane). that quads are standard in the 15" and 17" models is cool, too.
Got mine today, about 20 minutes after the store opened.
Honestly, I'm not too bummed that it didn't have an SSD, although that would have been nice. I was already looking forward to getting the old MBP, but by waiting about a month, I managed to get one with a faster processor and larger HD for the exact same price. That made those painful weeks without Traktor and Ableton all worthwhile.
Now to figure out how to recover my music from my dead 2007 MacBook.
i have the iphone 5.
u jelly?
but i left it at a bar.
i aint even mad tho.
Am i the only person who dosnt know what sandy bridge is??
would someone please explain the pro's and cons in layman's terms. Please
I play everything Indie/ Rock/ HipHop/ Cheese/ Electro/ Dubstep and anything that sounds good
Tsp 1.7/ Tsp 2/ Sony vaio Win 7 4gb Ram / Macbook Pro 13 inch (Main machine) /vci 100 se/ mixdeck/ audio 8/ technics rph headphones/ Custom xBox Controller/ Akai Lpd8
Disappointed by the resolutions. If I'm going to shell out that much on a notebook it better have full HD resolution. Will probably wait for when they refresh the Envy 14/15 with sandybridge. As long as they follow suit with what they did in their probooks and ditch those retarded track pads it should be good.
