Sweet, I'm glad it got to you. It looks like most of the contest winners have received their controllers now.Wow I came on here to say that Santa nem0nic paid my mailbox a sweet Behringer visit today...
I think the issue here is quite the opposite. I've been available to answer questions in this thread for nearly a year. And I'm very easy to contact by other means as well (as many of you know). Our mistake was showing CMD in 2012, and starting a dialog about the product that early in development. If we hadn't done that, no one would be complaining now. But thanks for the kind words!the issue here is a lack if communication...
ITT: People act as if Behringer owe them something.
It blows that we have to wait for our toys but this reaction is just silly. Such hostility... What are you trying to achieve by posting this?
edit: The idea there's a lack of communication here is ridiculous. Where else have seen such a high level of interaction with the public?

Lack of communication INTERNALLY. Clearly the product guys, manufacturing guys, and marketing guys have no bloody clue what the others are actually doing. We've got people on Behringer's Facebook page telling everyone that the CMD series is currently in container ships headed to the distributors, then we've got nem0nic on here telling us they haven't left the factory yet. It's a massive clusterfuck, and nobody at Behringer seems willing to accept that lol.
I'm actually starting to wonder whether they've even entered mass production yet.
So when that happens in any company, there is a choice to either rush the product out or ignore it and proceed with development. After having been involved on a project that was rushed out because the executive staff decided to place more emphasis on social media than product integrity, I'm glad I work for a place now that doesn't make that choice. Our experience has shown many times that releasing the product when it's ready is the right decision (the X32 release is a perfect example of that).I'M not making a mountain out of anything, your potential customers are.
You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about here. You're taking one Facebook post in isolation of ALL of the other messaging we've sent out, and turning it into some kind of federal case. And what's more, you're doing it when you have a direct line of communication to the Product Manager in charge of the products in question.Lack of communication INTERNALLY. Clearly the product guys, manufacturing guys, and marketing guys have no bloody clue what the others are actually doing.
I'm not saying you should rush the product out; feel free to take all the time in the world making it, that's NOT a problem. The problem is telling people one thing and doing something else. Do you have ANY idea how pleased the community would be with the "CMD situation" as we should probably start calling it, if instead of saying; "they'll be released at NAMM 2013", "they'll be in stores by March!", "they're on their way to the distributors now!", "they'll be in stores by May!" etc, you'd set up a CMD Series blog with development photos, weekly updates on the status of the project, etc etc.
Giving lots and lots of information about in-development stuff is fantastic; giving incorrect or false information, on the other hand, is just plain dodgy. The issue here is that one part of Behringer is saying one thing, and another is saying something completely different. What that means, logically, is that ONE of those parts is just flat-out lying. Regardless of which one it is, it looks bad.
EDIT: I'm not just taking one Facebook post, it's HUNDREDS over the past 4 months. If I had nothing better to do with my time, I could go back and compile a list of all of them if I thought it would help, but then again you can go and have a look for yourself and see what I mean. Also, comments made by Behringer reps at live shows, statements released to DJing news sites, etc etc. There's a very strong indication that your marketing department either a) has no clue what's going on, or b) is misdirecting people as a "stalling" tactic.
