A "real DJ" is somebody who spins discs on TTs or CDJs with no aid of a computer or other device. Being a "real DJ" doesn't even mean that you can beatmatch or scratch. It just means that you play music via a disc. So in my opinion, DVS systems don't allow you to DJ anymore than a controller does. If I see a guy show up to a party with a TT or CDJ coffin and a crate of vinyls/CDs, I'll shake his/her hand and say "You are one of the few real DJs left." Anybody else who is not playing music through an actual disc is not a DJ. There is not a fine line (strictly speaking from opinion).
