It's not the gear. It's how you use it.
limitations are the source of creativity.
If you don't practice you don't want it.

at first, I was WHAAAATTTT, this is is MAJOR FAIL. I was expecting something radical by NI. Then I've checked the interface explorer carefully and I think it's a fine controller.
This S2 - nothing more than a fine controller with a (very) smart mapping. A TWITCH - I think I WANT, an S2 - not sure, not sufficiently smaller/portable than S4, I'm afraid.
Love to see that NI are delivering the promised user mapping enhancement and am eager to get them for using with the S4. That's the most exciting part of this announcement.
Looking forward to see what the X1 successor would offer. Definitely hope for something more radical and innovative!
So I am extremely tempted to make the S4 my new mixer in my DVS setup (already have audio 8). Would I be wise to go for the S2 since I already have the two turntable decks? Could I even use the S2 as a controller for decks C+D in addition to the Audio 8 with the turntables on A+B? I'm thinking that the S2 would really just further complicate things and that the S4, which hopefully will see a price drop, would be a much simpler toy for my setup.
2xTechnics 1200 m3d. Traktor Pro. Audio 8. Kontrol X1. Akai MPD24 paper weight...
BTW, no one mentions the new Traktor 2.1 update: http://www.native-instruments.com/fo...ad.php?t=72703
they don't list the user mapping enhancements, though. Still, the smaple slot improvement is GREAT, IMOOriginally Posted by Keir@NI

to be honest, I suggest against using any of the two for DVS setup. They both have jogs and that makes the TTs redundant, IMO. The jogs of the S4 are very good and I just don't reach to the TTs - they usually sit off. I love the feel of the TT, but with the S4, I see zero point of using them.
my gut feeling says that a TWITCH would make more sense to complement a DVS + controller setup, but I'm not really sure if that's true. For DVS, a good mixer is just the best there is.
to each, their own, of course ...
Lol all the people saying overpriced.
TP2 = $200
A2DJ = $100
so that fancy controller now is $300
Sure Twitch came out for $400
But I can soooo see myself using this S2 before some touch strip flashy light doohicky anyday.

--Its not the OS, It's the user--
disappointing.
would much rather have seen a 4 channel mixer with no jog wheels.
