I planning on having my speakers at about shoulder height, so they would face downwards... Hmm... Do you know any that are just level?

they come with foam wedge spacers so you can make them sit level. I have the wedges added so it makes the angle more severe but if you flip the wedge around it will make them level.

That krk sub, the S10, is it really worth the money ? Is a bit redundant to have such a sub when have a pair of rokit 8s like you or is it overkill in hindsight ?

It is a complete necessity for DJing for me- I really dislike mixing without it and if I didn't have the sub I would be looking at different speakers.

For production the difference is less extreme since I have the level tuned properly and they is just slightly more low end where the RP8s lack.

But for my DJing setup I just crank the sub up and it sounds awesome and the the RP8s sound kind puny and no fun to mix on without it.

    New gear sluttery coming soon.

I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on a virus ti desktop but no one is selling one online or they will only sell locally. This is pretty annoying- must resist the urge to buy another synth in the meantime.

Hey Xonetacular, may I ask you a favor ?

I'm about the buy a DB2, but there's one thing that prevents me to do so at the moment. Faders.

Since you got a DB4, and I assume the faders are more or less the same, could you record a small video where you push the faders, "slam" (gently ahaha) and stuff. That's weird but they look "weak" and easy to break, while Pioneer faders feel super solid.
No stores around me have a DB2/4 on display that I can test, and I really need to see how the faders behave :)

If you read the skratchworx review of the DB4 they had the same worry, but A&H replied with a clarification of just how high quality the faders are. It's here: http://skratchworx.com/reviews/xone_db4.php

They feel fine, though I must say I did prefer the slightly higher resistance of the DJM-800 faders. One thing I have noticed though is that the fader caps seem to come off a little too easily. Anyone else with a DB noticed that?

Mmmh, ok that's one "bad point". Thanks for sharing the article and your experience. Last point, I hope you DB2/4 users will be able to clarify : EQ knobs.
When looking at pictures, they seem smaller in height than Pioneer's one. Is that true ? With an objective point of view, isn't it disturbing ? What do you prefer ?

I guess they are a little smaller but I can't say I've thought about it before now. Definitely not a problem or I would have noticed haha!

A&H faders are different from pioneer, yes. They are longer and have less resistance- db4 has the same kind of faders as the 92, 4D, etc.

Anyway here is a record haul I just picked up- got these all with bags and a usb turntable for $125. Dude was mad cool I responded to an add on craigslist and he just wanted to get rid of them since he was moving and couldn't take them with me so he gave me a good deal. Lots of classic, deep, tribal, and various house from the late 90s to mid 2000s. Apparently this guy was a resident at Space Miami up until mid 2000s so lots of great music and a lot of hard to find vinyl only stuff. it all mixes really well and I'm having a blast digging through it.

I also really love mixing vinyl on the DB4- all FX are perfectly synced and having the DB4 auto loopers per channel is awesome to just effortlessly cut loops with one encoder as if it were traktor and not a record.

Also just bought a Virus Ti so this will be coming to me this week

It's been a good slutty weekend
