    So usb 3.0 in retina macbook pro is not backwards compatible for audio devices? shame... my M-Audio Fast Track Pro USB stopped working indeed (using Mountain Lion GM). I hope my controller Pioneer DDJ-T1 works fine...

    Apparently you can load the usb 2.0 driver with a kernel extension utility. I don't know the details.
