    Pioneer Plan:

Introduce the monsterhit CDJ1000, take over the SL1200 role of industry standard
Market the newly acquired position like a ninja, sponsor dj's & events

Introduce the monsterhit DJM800, take over the role of other established brands (Rane, Vestax, Denon, A&H, ...)
Market the newly acquired position like a ninja, sponsor dj's & events

Introduce the monsterhit CDJ2000, prolong the role of industry standard
Market the monopoly like a ninja, sponsor dj's & events

    Rinse & repeat....

    Oh yeah, side note:

Market MKII, MKIII, nexus, ... versions of monsterhits to keep milking the cows
Appeal to the low(er) end market with 'cheaper' spin-offs from monsterhits
Set prices like a monopolist would do

Pretty solid plan if you ask me.....
If they don’t want to see the light…..just make them feel the beat…..

You've missed a part, fixed it for you

Make sure there are barely any real competitors for TT's anymore (SL1210 out of production; check).
Introduce the monsterhit TT-DJ xxxx, take over the DVS market.

Or just enable rekordbox to work as a DVS and update firmware for DJM900/2000 etc

Bring out a dvs sound card.

That would be Mixvibes' Cross since it has direct integration with Rekordbox, as well as DVS support for any interface, and HID for CDJs.

So I was chatting with a Pioneer rep where I work the other week and we were discussing the turntable ... They originally had ideas of adding features but it didn't turn out as expected, so they stripped it back to as close to the "industry leader" as they could.

I'm not letting go of my 1210mk2's any time soon but there's a chance Pioneer might actually get these "right" ...

Plenty of studio gear and not enough time ... and a few Nexo PA systems

I spoke to a guy who had some inside info and he told me that this prototype is just a trigger to check the crowds reaction.
The real turntable is almost a finished product and should bring new features to the table...

Well I asked some leading questions to the Pioneer rep when I went to a Pioneer Digital Choice thing a few weeks back.

I asked about DVS control without any other extrenal software and he said "that would be cool" with a wry smile on his face but refused to confirm or say anything.

I think it will be similar to what has been shown but potentially could be a stand alone DVS platform too.
