I work for a company that makes stationary for financial consultants. It's pretty damn hardcore. :P

Nemonic, any videos of the studio4a coming out?
I didnt realize they were only 200.
Although it lacks a dedicated filter, I like the long pitch faders for manual beatmatching. I wish there were reviews on how good it sounded..
The audio chipset we used is the same one that is in the BCD3000, but with a great new ASIO driver. It's a middle-of-the-road audio interface in terms of audio quality, but also a well known and proven chipset that's robust and stable - so it's great for an entry level piece like the 4a.
Yeah dude for $200 this is a ridiculous deal! I'm kinda bummed it doesn't have a dedicated filter too, but not a deal breaker for me by any means at all. I'm thinking ill probably map the innermost fx encoders for A&B filters and have three fx encoders for each deck (one being wet/dry obviously). I think a better option would be to do all my effecting with the DV-1 and map all eight fx encoders on the 4A to things like pan, key, gain, and filter for A&B (probably that order left to right and right to left) and map the buttons underneath to turn each on & off. Seems like a CMD 4A paired with a DV1 would give you pretty much control over everything in Traktor (like the s4) besides remix decks. This is probably not the smartest way to go about it but I'm just theorizing since these are the two CMD's items i'll have to begin with.
Oh maaann i just had an idea.....please tell me if this makes sense guys.
Since the 4A already has 8 hot cues, having the same 8 hot cues on the DV-1 would be redundant. If NI ever releases the mappings for the remix decks you could map 8 buttons to launch remix decks. Wait a minute....just thought of this, since the 4A already has looping controls you don't really need the 8 buttons above the cue points for looping.....meaning you would have 16 buttons for remix decks!!! I realize this will probably will never happen but we can dream right?
Am i crazy of does this make sense?
CMD 4A & DV-1 map theory.jpg
photoshopped a lil sumthin sumthin real quick. any suggestions?
- I don't really use Pan at all but figured i'd throw it in there since the encoder was available. Any other suggestions? I wish the DV-1 had the different LED colors like the LC-1 hahaha! I photochopped the colors in just to see what it might look like....one day....or in a galaxy far far away.
- Just realized Gain and Pan don't have on/off switches. these buttons are useless now? beatjump maybe? question for nemonic, the loop left and right arrows are pre-mapped to set the loop size right? not beatjumping. I could maybe switch the positions of the key and pan encoders so that the newly mapped beatjump buttons are right above the loop size buttons?
-One more mapping question for you nemonic (and or midi mapping masters mrpopinjay or stewe), sorry for the barrage of questions, but here's a pre-thank you for your guys knowledge, time, and feedback![]()
So the studio 4A has buttons to turn on and off FX units 1&2 for decks A&B. What if i wanted 4 FX units and at the same time be able to toggle on/off FX 1234 for deck A and B? Is their a way to map it so that whatever your deck focus is, it will light up and let you know which fx units are on, and then be able to toggle them on/off? I think simply put, i want to have the FX assign 1&2 on deck B become FX assign 3&4 and be able to turn them on off depending on my deck focus. Because at that point you could assign the FX units to decks C&D as well right? Given that you are deck focused on them.
I know I'm only scratching the surface of the dark art of midi mapping but i can already tell that this shit goes deeeeeeeeeeeeep![]()
