That's a nice haul of vinyl mate.
That's a nice haul of vinyl mate.
I think it al depends on personel preference.
I for one haven't got any problem with the faders and the eq knobs on the Xone series, And i i'm using Xone's for the last 7,5 years.
I actually prefer them too the Pioneer wich i think are too stiff...

Oh hey I think I saw these pictures somewhere else too.
Good stuff.
I have both a djm 800 and DB4.... you can absolutely 1000000% tell the difference, and the difference is huge.
I had hung up my DJM 800 but recently swapped them back out as I had a big gig using a DJM 2000. I wanted to become familiar with DJM again because the workflow and the way you approach the DB4 is vastly different.
Anyway, so when I started using the DJM again I couldn't believe what I was listening to, I figured something was wrong with the connections, I pulled everything out and put it back....still the same.... honestly the sound was (to my ears) so inferior and horrible to what I had become accustomed to.... it was really that bad. It was like playing with a kiddys toy, and the effects, dont get me started. however, Strangely enough with all that the db4 has to offer in effects, I do miss the pioneer crush effect.

Now I understand why people call it getting infected.
Just setup the Virus Ti, this thing is awesome. I'm so glad I switched to a real hardware synth. I haven't spent too much time with it but this synth is so comprehensive and well thought out. Not that I plan on using it much for editing but even the Virus VST is incredibly well thought out and straight forward.
I just don't feel inspired on softsynths at all and don't look forward to sitting down and using them with a mouse, in fact I dread it which is probably a big reason why I never really finished anything.
Within 10 minutes of sitting down with this thing I am already pumping out amazing sounds and tweaking away. The sound is absolutely awesome, dark, and lush and everything has so much depth. The interface is intuitive and tweaking around on it in 20 seconds has great sounds coming out which I've never got before from any VST and recording and bouncing stuff to audio.
It's done exactly what I want and why I bought it and removed the barrier between me and creating music, just playing around with it makes me get up and dance instead of pulling my hair out with VSTs. Between the Ti and Maschine It's some pretty great integration, now I can finally make some music and enjoy it...
I've officially run out of space on my desk and have no room for an ipad. I'm really glad I held out to find a Ti desktop instead of buying a keyboard version, it's much better front and center and accessible- the fewer annoyances and hindrances in the process the better and that includes turning to the side to look at a synth.
So my next purchase is probably going to be a new desk and I'll be moving my studio to my living room where I have more room and can put it in the optimal location in my apartment for the best sound/monitoring. Then I'll be looking into sound treatment, other monitors, and maybe a hackintosh down the line- even though it is much more tempting to buy more fun stuff like synths.
I've gotta keep a lookout for studio desks on craigslist. It seems studio desk are either too ugly, too lacking, or too expensive and unfortunately I haven't found anything yet that is ideal. I want rack space and a nice wide desk with a long shelf for two 24" LCD monitors (maybe 2 27") that can also fit two pairs of studio monitors. I would settle for two large LCDs and one set of studio monitors though.
Utorrent being used for perfectly legal purposes of course...![]()
