honestly the more I hear about this, the more excited I get. I literally had 0 interest the night it got leaked, but I'm really liking the direction pio is going with this.

think about it like this. Up until now most people who buy controllers are new DJs looking to get a "feel" for what a typical club setup would be like (pioneer cdjs and djm type stuff you know). ok so now you end up with an S4 or NS6 or VCI 400 and you have an idea of how a cdj and a club mixer work, but you still have zero or very little experience with the industry standard. there is no way your just going to jump onto a pair of cdj 2000s and a djm 900 and know exactly what your doing. sure you will have an idea, but it will still be something new that you have to get used to.

what makes this device so damn amazing isn't the wireless gimmick that everyone has been talking about (yeah thats cool too), but the fact that this gives everyone access to the "pioneer workflow" without having to pay an arm and a leg. you have record box, through HID or USB drive (just like the big boy cds) you have color and beat effects (just like the big boy djms). yeah it's slightly limited, but it gets the job done.

yeah, the usb sticks that i already managed in rekordbox will be perfect for this, have the ipad for searching tracks and waveforms

Is it because of the non-tagging ability of WAV files, as you can Tag in AIFF but maybe Pioneer have not coded it in yet.

Can CDJ2000 work with taggable AIFF files??
not really, it's more of a limit of the wireless bandwidth. streaming an 18mb 320 mp3 vs at 70mb wav is much safer/quicker over wireless. you can play wav/aiff on it if you want via a USB stick or a wired connection to your laptop/rekordbox, just like the cdjs...

the CDJ2000 fully works with taggable AIFFs, so does rekordbox....

I don't want to stream it but isn't one of the functions to be able to set cue and loop points and then upload them back to your tracks on your computer etc.?

I don't actually have CdJs so it's a bit cheeky but I'd definitely want it as a feature for the new CDJs if they're able to sync wirelessly.

    I don't do MP3s

Looks like you will be able to launch your own samples using the four banks which is great.
It seems like that's what the next big update will be on rekordbox, the ability to take samples out of your tracks.
That means samples will be able to be used on the rmx, aero and maybe the new line of cdjs?

ok guys, pioneer sent me a unit, got it yesterday and tried it out.

    first impressions after 20min of use is;

feels sturdy, the finnish is nice(no fingerprints like the mixer section s4) wireless functions work very well
plugged in usb with rekordbox files, xdj aero read it quickly without hassle. the screen is sort of small, you see
3 songs when you scroll through your library.
mixer section feels like a djm 350. hard plastic knobs with nice restiance. up-faders were smooth with
    good resistance aswell.
I was impressed by the jogs, they really feel solid, although not as nice to grab as the cdjs rubberlike material on the
    side.

will be back with more info later, now om off to work!
