It's not much like Google Wave at all. It's pretty much just facebook, that's not facebook.

its a blend of FB and twitter

it allows you to 'follow' people or be followed like on twitter without a mutual friendship/ following like on facebook, however the interface and features are similar to facebooks.

You forgot the best bits- the privacy settings and the fact it's not run by a company who make a profit selling your data.

Google in some shape or form will make cash off of everything you put into G+ too.

Yes, but they don't sell the data, they make their money through targetted ads. The reason I like google is because a) they value privacy in a way that facebook does not b) they keep the data and use it themselves rather than sell it off.
